Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-10
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are and how Oryxa uses them when you visit oryxa.app.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They let a website recognize your device between visits and remember information such as whether you are signed in or which display preferences you’ve chosen.
2. Cookies We Use
Oryxa keeps cookie use deliberately minimal. We use three categories of cookies, and no others:
Essential cookies
- Authentication session cookie (set by Supabase Auth) — keeps you signed in and identifies your session so the Service can securely load your account, tracked titles, and settings. Without this cookie, you cannot stay logged in.
Preference cookies
- Theme cookie (
xtv-theme) — remembers which appearance you’ve chosen so the Service can render the right theme on your next visit without a flash of the wrong colors. - Layout cookie (
oryxa-view) — remembers whether you’ve switched a phone to the desktop layout in Settings.
First-party analytics cookie
- Attribution cookie (
oryxa_attrib) — if you arrive from a campaign link or another site, this remembers which link brought you here (for exampleutm_sourcevalues and the referring site’s domain) plus a random identifier, for 30 days. It contains no name, email, or account identity, is set and read only by oryxa.app, and is never shared with anyone. We use it solely to learn which of our own announcements actually help people find Oryxa. Deleting it has no effect on the Service.
We do not use advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics scripts run on oryxa.app. Oryxa does not run ad networks and does not sell data to advertisers.
3. The Cookie Notice Banner
Because we only use essential and preference cookies, the banner shown on your first visit is a simple notice, not a granular consent form — there are no optional tracking categories to toggle. Dismissing the banner does not change which cookies are set; it only records that you’ve seen the notice.
4. Controlling Cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Because the authentication cookie is required to keep you signed in, blocking it will sign you out or prevent sign-in. Blocking the theme cookie simply means your appearance preference won’t be remembered between visits.
5. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce new categories of cookies in the future (for example, analytics or advertising), we will update this policy and the consent banner accordingly before doing so.
